From the lab to your bathroom shelf

Welcome to my story! I am seaweed researcher and the founder of Algaee Cosmetics. My journey started with Laminaria kelp in my undergrad, deepened through connections with seaweed farmers in Kenya, and turned into a full obsession during my Masters when I started formulating seaweed sunscreens in my kitchen (my flatmates can confirm - the house stank).

After training at the Personal Academy for Cosmetic Formulation and years of experimentation, I finally launched Algaee during my PhD. Every product reflects that journey: science-backed formulations rooted in years of research and a genuine passion for what seaweed can do for skin.

Why seaweed?

Seaweed is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that your skin loves. It deeply hydrates, protects from environmental damage, brightens skin tone, and soothes inflammation. As a researcher, I knew I could harness this ocean magic to create something special.
